Concerts I’ve Gone To (Since 2006)

 

Ever since high school, attending live music shows has been a big hobby of mine.  A few months ago, I decided it could be interesting to keep track of and visualize all of the shows I’ve been going to.  Luckily all of my past concerts (since I started grad school) were archived in old gmail calendar entries or emails, allowing me to take this analysis back almost a decade.

One pleasant unintended effect of this exercise is that it serves as a really good roadmap to go down memory lane.  Music is a great emotion-rich memory trigger for me, so this figure helps me tap into sights / sounds / feelings from my past that I’ve essentially forgotten about, otherwise.
