Hiking Elevation Gains

With the weather warmer again (and the days longer), we’re back to taking advantage of the PacNW environment by going out on hikes.  I became somewhat curious about some of the details of the hike elevation gains, so I plotted them all out on the same graph.  These are the hikes I’ve been on since I started more rigorously tracking my activities (unfortunately, some pretty good hikes like Lake 22, Lake Serene / Bridal Veils Falls, and Wallace Falls were all hiked before this and thus not tracked, but oh well).  I’ve included my typical commute from work for comparison (it’s at the bottom).

I tried to sum up all of the individual elevation gains to get total elevation gained during the hike, and ended up with something completely unrealistic.  Turns out Strava is terrible for this.
